I will never stop learning and growing in this field. I believe living a healthy lifestyle, including fitness AND NUTRITION, is the best way to enhance our quality of life as we age. I knew I could be more impactful by getting in front of people BEFORE chronic illness presented itself.

Many patients were not in a good place mentally or emotionally, and it was hard to help them envision a healthy lifestyle. By the time I met patients and saw them in the hospital, they had already spent so much time living with chronic illnesses.

I often felt a bit hopeless in regard to changing someone’s life or health outcome. I cannot say it was a very fulfilling job for me. I spent time working in the OR and then as a floor nurse. I knew after college I wanted to do something in the health field, so I eventually landed in nursing and became an RN. During the Summer before my freshman year of college, I fell in love with weight training and began to educate myself on the importance of a properly balanced diet. During the Summer, we took a short drive to a local gym where a group of personal trainers worked with us. We were introduced to basic nutrition concepts and spent an hour doing conditioning in our gym. I grew up playing multiple sports, starting first as a competitive gymnast and then later moving on to play college basketto care for our bodies well. I have been passionate about health and nutrition for as long as I can remember.

I'm excited to join Arena Athletic Club as your new nutrition coach. In the coming days we will be rolling out material on our all new Nutrition Program.
